Auditioned and Non-Auditioned Choirs


K-State offers 3 choirs that require no audition and are open for enrollment:

  •     Men's Glee Club
  •     Women's Glee Club
  •     University Choir (spring only)

What to prepare:

  1.    Prepare 2 songs of contrasting tempo/styles (pop, Broadway, standards, etc.)
  2.    Bring a copy for the accompanist (provided).  You must use sheet music.  Singers may not sing unaccompanied or to a CD/tape.
  3.    There will be choreography that you will learn and perform as well as a section from a group number to prepare.


Collegiate Chorale/Concert Choir
Auditions for returning students are held in the spring semester for the following school year.

What to prepare:

  1.    Prepare 1 song (aria, art song, folk song, spiritual, hymn, etc -something appropriate for solo contest)
  2.    Bring a copy for the accompanist (provided)
  3.    Auditionees will also be vocalized, and may be asked to perform some basic sight reading and tonal memory exercises
